"Avshar Wine Tour" Trail in Ararat Marz. Avshar wine factory is one of the greatest producers of alcohol drinks in Armenia. The name of the factory is known for more than forty years. From 1968 the factory began to act as a state company but with the independence of Armenia and market economic transitions the factory was in need of radical change and since 1995 it was privatized. Avshar wine factory is located in Ararat region, village Avshar, Republic of Armenia. This place is known as the heart of the country, which is rich in fruitful gardens and fields famous for incomparable types of fruits, vegetables and grained pulses. The region is known to have wine treatment history even since BC, when Noy came down from the Ararat, just where he planted the first wine field. The Factory history begins from 1968. For many years the factory has specialized in wine and brandy production, but together with the company’s increasing fame in the market, Avshar wine factory has enlarged it’s framework of activities in producing vodka as well. The factory produced fruits’ alcohol goods that were known both in Soviet Union and Japan. At present the factory is one of the leaders in alcohol drinks production of Armenia. The founder of the company is Temur I. Grigoryan. He held the factory till 1994 after which the factory supervision was transferred to his son Arayik T. Grigoryan. After the factory’s privatization a total reconstruction was realized. Now the factory is armed with modern equipments and technologies being under the constant control of professional workers, which have long term of experience in the field of wine, brandy and vodka production. Due to the unique quality of produced vodka, wine and brandy the factory achieved acceptance not only in local market but in foreign as well. The vodka represented in the market by Avshar wine factory is treated by three leveled filtration. This process allows achieving of the product’s perfect clearness and rare taste. The high taste and aroma of wines and brandies is the result of traditional wine selection and cultivation that comes from centuries.
