Ethnographic History Museum

The Historical and Ethnographic Museum of Echmiadzin was founded in 1964. The museum has 3 exhibition parts, which are devoted to archeological, ethnography and applied arts. In the archeological exhibition you will find stone idols, ceramics, jewelry made ​​of bronze and stone, as well as a clay sarcophagus. In the ethnography part you will discover more than 20 carpets with special and symbolic meaning as described by museum guides, which have been collected from different regions of Armenia. Carpet making equipment are also on display. Also you can explore Echmiadzin house style common in the 19th-20th century as well as special tools for making traditional Armenian lavash (flat bread). In the applied arts section you will discover different types of household items as well as the evaluation of these items over time.
