Lichk Reserve

Lichk Reserve is a pair of small lakes fed by a river and has a high concentration of water and wetland dependent birds.

Covered with dense stands of aquatic vegetation, Lichk offers excellent opportunities to many water and shorebirds as a breeding, foraging and stopover site. Coots and divers such as Common and Red-crested Pochards breed here.

A good number of herons, egrets, cormorants and waders such as Common Snipe and Great Sandpiper are regular visitors, while most of them stay into winter.

Species occurrence period shown by calendar month: IV = April, V = May, etc.

    How to reach From Yerevan take M4 highway, drive 117km to north-east and you will reach the Lichk Reserve. The trip will approximately take 1 hour 30 minutes.
