The current structure consists of 2 churches, the gavit, auxiliary structures, the graveyard with tombstones and elaborate khachkars and the outer wall.

Vorotnavank
is set on a promontory overlooking the Vorotan Canyon. The complex was an important religious and cultural center in Syunik in the 10th-15th cc, between the Bagratuni and Orbelian periods.
